A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust novel Chapter 675

As soon as Calliope heard her phone buzzing nonstop, she fished it out of her purse. Every single message was from Gideon.

She couldn’t help but roll her eyes. Glancing over in Gideon’s direction, she wondered what the heck was wrong with him.

Honestly, she’d never realized just how nuts Gideon could be.

Without another thought, Calliope blocked his number.

Gideon, meanwhile, frowned when his texts suddenly wouldn’t go through. He shot a look toward Calliope, convinced that her blocking him meant she still cared. In some twisted way, that made perfect sense to him.

Of course, Calliope had no idea that Gideon’s mind worked in such a bizarre way.

Just then, Calista came over, needing to talk to Calliope about something, so he pulled her outside for a quick chat.

After a few minutes, Calista’s eyes lit up, like he’d just solved a riddle.

“Thanks, Aunt Callie, that makes so much sense now!”

He looked positively relieved and motioned for Calliope to head back in with her.

But, right on cue, Gideon rolled out.

“Calista, head back inside, will you? I need a word with Callie,” he said.

Calista didn’t look thrilled about leaving Calliope alone with him. He hesitated, glancing between the two of them.

“It’s fine, Calista,” Calliope reassured him. “I’ll be okay. Go on inside.”

She didn’t much care for Gideon and his family, but this was about an innocent child. She couldn’t keep quiet.

“Given your family’s track record, I doubt you’d treat a kid with special needs right. So, maybe it’s better to face it now rather than after the baby’s born.”

“What do you mean, something’s wrong?! My grandchild is perfectly fine!” A new voice cut in. Fleur, Gideon’s mother, stormed out, face flushed with anger. She fixed Calliope with a cold stare. “You just can’t let Gideon go, can you? Is that why you’re saying this, to mess with us?”

Calliope burst out laughing, unable to believe what she was hearing. “Me, obsessed with Gideon? Are you kidding me?”

She shook her head, exasperated. “Look, Fleur, your son is nothing special. I’m just being decent by warning you. Do what you want with it. But don’t blame me if things go wrong later.”

Yvette hovered in the background, biting her lip.

“Aunt Callie, is it because you don’t want me to have Gideon’s baby?” she asked quietly.
