"STOP! MAKE THEM STOP! I DON’T WANT THEM TO BE HERE! MAKE THEM STOP TALKING!"
Zuri growled, she yelled, kicked and do whatever she could to free herself so she could get her hand on the images of her parents and dead mate. She was going to kill them again.
She couldn’t stop them from talking. They kept talking in her head and the voices were getting so loud. She wanted them to stop talking. She wanted it to be quiet. She wanted any semblance of peace.
Even when Khaos was holding her hand right now, it didn’t do anything to her. It didn’t help, she even forgot he was there with her. His voice was drowned by the voices in her head.
Images after images popped in her mind. She watched herself being fucked by Xaden in their first night together and then the image changed, this time she watched herself in the river when Xaden came to join her.
She remembered his touch. Hell. She could feel his hands on her right now. It felt so real. Her disgust and resentment overwhelmed her. She had never felt this strong feeling of hatred like what she felt right now.
This was the hatred that could burn the world to ashes. She wanted to kill someone, she wanted to kill her father, her mother and Xaden all over again. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
The hatred was overwhelming. She couldn’t contain this negative feeling anymore. She screamed until her throat was hurt, she wouldn’t be surprised if she lost her voice after this.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP! SHUT UP!"
Zuri turned into the demon herself, as the curses made thing worse for her. It intensified her negative feeling. Her hatred, her bloodthirst, her killing intent.
She wanted to kill everyone in this room, including Khaos.
"The rope will snap!" Rhett warned them. "Alpha, you need to move away from her!" he couldn’t be closer than this, because the magic users had created a magic circle around them and he was not allowed to step a foot inside. "Alpha!"
"Stop this ritual!" Bryden roared. "You need to stop! Stop this ritual now!"
However, they didn’t hear them. They were going to finish the curses on Zuri and in their eyes, she was still able to handle it.
She was going to make it and Khaos didn’t stop them. He watched as Zuri snapped and the rope strained against her skin. She couldn’t shift into her beast because of the spell that was put on her.
But, she had been trained in her human form as well for weeks with Gayle. Therefore, she still could be dangerous even in her human form and right now, she was going to free herself.
Once the rope snapped, all hell would break lose.
Elijah and his magic users tried to fasten the process and this aggravated Zuri even more. It was obvious that she was not going to die because of the curses, neither she would get a backlash, they might as well finish the twenty curses in one go.
However, Khaos stopped them before they could drag her away.
"Alpha! Don’t come closer! Don’t come here!" Rhett was worried that Zuri might harm Khaos, but the later ignored him completely, as he knelt down in front of her.
Rhett and Bryden restrained her, while warning Khaos.
"It’s okay," Khaos said. He stretched out his hand and caressed her cheek. "Calm down." Surprisingly, Zuri did calm down when he touched her. "All of you can leave."
"No! We can’t leave you with her alone!" Bryden refused, despite how shocked he was to witness Khaos tamed the livid woman.
"Leave." The alpha’s order left no room for negotiation.
Elijah was the first one, who walked out. He glanced at his fellow magic users, who died miserably. If the alpha could calm Zuri down with so much ease, why he didn’t do it sooner? Instead, he only stood there and watched his magic users were being mauled by her.
Bryden and Rhett followed after that, they still threw a worry look at the alpha’s direction when he untied Zuri’s rope.
However, once everyone left the room, leaving them alone and the dead bodies and blood all over the floor and walls, Zuri attacked Khaos!
