A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 733

"Yvan, guess who I bumped into today?"

Chase couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he sent the message. It was a funny turn of fate. It was he who had stumbled upon Matilda years ago and informed Yvan, which eventually revealed that Matilda had secretly had Yvan's child. That revelation was the beginning of a tangled mess.

Now, as if by some cosmic joke, history seemed to repeat itself with Chase once again randomly encountering Matilda.

No sooner had Chase sent the message than Yvan, fresh from dominating a boardroom meeting where he had just put to rest any doubts about his return as the indomitable Mr. Boyd, saw it. The shareholders who had harbored any thoughts of rebellion had quieted under his gaze, recognizing the unmistakable determination in his eyes.

Yvan had barely sat down when Carl handed him a summary of recent business developments, a moment that felt all too familiar. It was as if Yvan had never left.

"Mr. Boyd, please take a moment to review these updates," Carl said.

"Sure," Yvan replied, just as his phone buzzed with Chase's message.

Yvan couldn't help but smile before replying.

"What did you see?"

— "I ran into Matilda."

Yvan's fingers froze mid-tap. Matilda?

He found himself missing her.

But Chase, fearless as ever, added — "Haha, not just Matilda, but also the guy she was with!"

Yvan's demeanor chilled instantly, akin to the way he had silenced the boardroom earlier. Carl jumped, sensing the return of the cold and calculating Yvan.

Without hesitation, Yvan dialed Chase, but the call was cut short.

Carl, confused by Yvan's sudden departure from business, questioned, "Mr. Boyd? I wasn't aware of any meetings at Gold Plaza..."

Yvan's temper flared, his response petulant, "Do I need to report my every move to you?"

Carl quickly backtracked, "No, of course not... Just curious. Shall I get the car ready?"

"Now!" Yvan demanded. "How long to Gold Plaza?"

"About thirty minutes..." Carl replied cautiously, wondering what could have provoked Yvan's ire so soon after his return.

The once love-struck husband banged his desk, "We leave now! Make it to Gold Plaza in ten minutes! Some guy's trying to steal my Matilda! She's running off with someone else!"

Carl sighed heavily, thinking, "Oh boy, here comes the wife-chasing maniac..."
