A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 630

In that instant, Matilda felt as though time itself had frozen, even the air seemed to come to a standstill. Yvan's falling figure became the last image seared into her mind before the world seemed to collapse around her, echoing the apocalypse in the sharp, piercing cry that erupted from the depths of her soul.

"Yvan—!!"

Her cry, carried by the howling wind, brushed past the ears of everyone present, even shocking Logan, who sat pale-faced and trembling in the car. Carl made a move to comfort the boy, but the next second, he saw silent tears streaming down Logan’s face.

"Mr. B..." Logan struggled with the address, then flung open the car door and stumbled out.

"Dad... Dad..."

His frantic, dazed figure pushed through the crowd, only to be stopped near the cliff's edge by R7CKY, who firmly pulled him back. "Back you go!"

"No—!!" Logan's voice cracked as he screamed, struggling in vain. "Let me go, let me go—!!"

Yvan had fallen! Yvan and Chad had plunged into oblivion together!

"What are you waiting for? Search!" Hadrian's voice thundered, "Down the cliff! We need to find them, dead or alive!"

Matilda kneeled at the cliff's edge, clearly in shock, her whole being in a haze. Then Orson stepped forward to pull her back, gripping her arm.

"It's dangerous here, stay back," Orson warned.

Matilda felt as though her soul had completely detached from her body. She stumbled to her feet, casting a glance at Rachel, who lay sobbing on the ground, then at Opal, who had fainted and was being rushed to the hospital in a frenzy, and finally at Violet, who slowly approached her. When their eyes met, tears streamed down both their faces.

It felt as though she was being torn apart, her blood flowing with the pain.

The wind howled in her ears like slaps across her face. Matilda covered her face, tears streaming down uncontrollably.

In the end, Matilda collapsed to her knees, sobbing uncontrollably, her fingernails digging into the dirt, blood seeping into the soil. Orson pulled her to her feet as she struggled, the sound of sirens and ambulances blaring in the background, reminiscent of the day she had fallen into Yvan's arms, wounded and desperate.

As Orson dragged her onto the ambulance, the world around Matilda spun, her vision blurred. Had the person who jumped been Yvan?

As darkness engulfed her consciousness, the last image Matilda clung to was Yvan's pale face before he leaped from the cliff.
