A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 624

"Alright." Chad chuckled as he stepped back, then suddenly slapped Chloe across the face and pressed the muzzle of his gun against her temple. Chloe screamed in agony, prompting Godfrey to yell out in pain, "Let her go!"

"If there's no Matilda, they all die!"

Chuckling, Chad gripped Chloe tighter and retreated, "That's what you get for underestimating me! Yvan, I'm giving you five more minutes to bring Matilda to me, or I'll do as I say!"

Godfrey was plunged into despair; seeing the mark on Chloe's face made his heart ache. "Swap Chloe with me, I'll be your hostage! How can you call yourself a man, treating women who can't defend themselves like this!"

"Oh? Isn't it their own fault for not being able to defend themselves?" Chad sneered maliciously. "How can you blame me, huh?"

What kind of twisted logic is this! Blaming the victims?!

Godfrey trembled with rage, "What do you really want! Do you just want to see Yvan suffer?"

"I want Matilda dead!" Chad spat out these words through clenched teeth. "I'm done playing games. Here's the deal: if Matilda dies, they live. If Matilda doesn't die, they're as good as dead!"

He had taken all those close to Yvan as hostages. Yvan's father, Noel, was out of the country and unaware of the situation, but if he knew, he would be devastated. Chad used this to threaten Yvan, wanting to see him caught in a dilemma.

Caught between a rock and a hard place, choosing either side meant tearing his heart apart!

Madman! An utter madman! He had even mobilized all his forces in Jungle Union, just to set this trap for Yvan today!

"What the hell—" Yvan's eyes were filled with rage when suddenly, a clear voice cut through their conversation!

"Fine, you want me to show up? I'm curious to see how you plan to hurt me?"

Yvan was visibly shaken, disbelief in his gaze as he looked back. Amidst the swirling dust, a slender figure appeared in everyone's view, causing Chad to let out a cry of elation—

"Grab Matilda for me!"
