A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 601

The little boy's voice was youthful but resolute, "We went through a lot of trouble to get you out of that military hospital. You were in a vegetative state, but I think you could hear me."

Hadrian remained silent, looking into Logan's eyes, finding them filled with too many emotions, far beyond what a child his age should possess.

A child of merely five or six, yet with a strategic mind almost eerily beyond his years, it was a story no one would believe.

Who turned him into this... this prodigy... or perhaps, this monster?

Was it this harsh, unforgiving world that forced Logan to mature so rapidly? Yvan knew all too well that he was partly to blame for shaping him into what he had become.

Logan looked straight at Hadrian, "I hope you recover soon. Jungle Union needs you back in charge."

The first thing Hadrian did upon regaining consciousness was to send a message back to Jungle Union, declaring he was still alive! Some were too eager to step into his shoes, but he would deal with them one by one upon his return.

Chad turned ashen upon hearing the news of Hadrian's recovery, "What's going on? Wasn't it foolproof? Wasn't he supposed to be bedridden for life? How did he suddenly wake up?"

"Mr. Crowe, our... our intelligence was flawed..."

"Get out! You're all worthless!"

Chad kicked one of his men away, while his mother, Esme, was also visibly distressed, "Chad, what are we going to do now? You said there would be no problems. I was looking forward to you taking over Jungle Union and crushing Orson beneath your feet..."

"Orson... Orson was rescued too!"

Chad smashed a vase to the ground in anger, "Damn it, I'm going to find out who in the world has the guts to do this!"

We can't touch him... This is Sea City's Yvan we're talking about. Messing with him could have widespread consequences, not to mention the friends by Yvan's side...

But Chad was beyond caring. He kicked the man in the stomach, "Can't touch him? We must! Even if it means mutual destruction! I'll drag Yvan down with me! I want to see how powerful he really is. No matter how tough, everyone has only one life. How many times can he cheat death?!"

His underling scurried off to carry out the orders, while Chad destroyed everything he could lay his hands on in rage. Esme watched, trembling, "Chad, making an enemy of Yvan... might not be wise."

"Since when is it your place to question my decisions? Yvan is just a man blinded by love for a woman—" Chad's voice suddenly stopped, and then he sneered, a vicious look on his handsome face, "Actually, I just thought of someone..."

He stopped one of his departing men, a scheming smile on his face, "First, check where this woman named Rachel is."

Using Rachel to get to Matilda... now that was a plan with potential.
