A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 435

However, Yvan kept moving forward, turning to his assistant and saying, "I know what you're worried about."

Carl trailed behind him, "I'm just concerned about you going abroad alone."

Given Yvan's stature, if a competitor abroad decided to threaten his safety, they would be too far to react or protect him effectively.

"It'll be fine, someone will meet me there," Yvan glanced back at Carl. "Besides, there's a summit in three days I need to attend."

Carl thought to himself, didn't you decline that summit invitation last month? Why the sudden change of heart...

Yvan didn't respond, proceeding to check in by himself. Before, others would have taken care of all these details for him. Now, seeing Yvan handling everything solo, with such humility and discretion, Carl sighed internally.

Changing so much for Matilda, but what if it all ends up being for nothing?

Yvan, however, didn’t dwell on these thoughts. He checked his luggage, paid the extra fee, and headed to the gate with his mobile boarding pass.

Since Carl wasn't coming along, he was left behind the security line.

Carl, feeling anxious, called out, "Mr. Boyd..."

Logan, in particular, was in high spirits, engaging with Criss's friends who were impressed by his knowledge despite his young age, earning their praises. Matilda, having overindulged in wine last time and fallen asleep, stayed away from drinking too much, instead keeping an eye on the barbecue skewers for everyone.

Suddenly, a pair of arms wrapped around her from behind, lifting her up. Matilda turned to see Criss smiling as he carried her into the crowd, announcing, "Hey, let me introduce my princess Dawn! Don't just stand there, love, come join the fun."

The DJ turned up the music, and the party escalated, with some people even bringing out water guns. Logan, after a day full of excitement, ended up exhausted, resting on the couch with Criss, looking every bit the father and son.

Meanwhile, Yvan had just landed in San Francisco and headed straight for his hotel. Upon arrival, he was informed that the hotel manager was looking forward to meeting him.

"I'll make sure to drop by when I can, thank you for the invitation," Yvan replied with composure, and the bellboy showed him to his room. Once inside, the door closed behind him, and he connected to the overseas internet, casually browsing when he stumbled upon a social media post by someone named Criss, featuring a series of party photos.
