"Mom, I gotta hit the restroom…" Logan suddenly hopped down from his chair, flashed a smile at Matilda, and then sprinted towards the direction of the bathrooms.
Gotta hurry... maybe there's still time. If the fugitive gets cornered with nowhere to hide...
Bursting into the men's room, Logan dashed to the last stall and yanked open the door, only to have a bloodied hand shoot out and grab him by the throat.
"It's me!" Logan coughed out, then heard the man inside shout, "What are you doing here?"
Logan locked eyes with the man, "Heard the cops were on your tail, so I came."
The man's eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of menace in his gaze, "You knew?"
"Heard it through the grapevine." Logan tapped his ear, "Kids, we've got sharp ears."
The man fell silent.
But Logan grabbed his smartphone and seized the man's bloody hand, not showing a hint of fear, "I'll make some calls, get you out of this mess. You gotta follow my lead, got it?"
His seriousness was evident, and for a moment, the man felt that this kid wasn't just any ordinary child.
He was adept at blending in, yet his wisdom far exceeded that of his peers.
"Why help me? I'm just a dangerous fugitive now."
"I need you to mess with Whty City police's communication network." Logan's tone was serious, "I'm helping someone get out of Zach Country."
"Dude, you're playing with fire!" R7CKY cautioned, "That's illegal, you're too young…"
"You in or out? Whty City International Airport." Logan was all business, "We're in the basement level men's room, last stall. Crash the airport's surveillance system, and have Ventus jam their comms. Leave the rest to me."
After laying out his plan, Logan hung up, leaving R7CKY to spring into action and mutter, "Dad's finally getting a taste of real adventure!"
Ventus chimed in with a cool tone, "Just remember, you're a fugitive too."
"…"
