A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 390

But Declan and Yvan looked at him in shock. "No..."

He hadn't touched Matilda...

Chloe was frantic, standing to the side, and without further ado, she yelled at Declan, "You dared to hurt Matilda? Are you out of your mind? Haven't you done enough damage to me already?"

Declan, livid with rage, reached out to grab Chloe by the throat, only to be blocked by Godfrey. The man narrowed his eyes, "Well, well, look who's got a backbone now and thinks they can run wild!"

Yvan was there, trying to calm everyone down, looking for the main issue, "Wait a second, everyone cool it. Matilda's missing?!"

Godfrey turned to face Yvan, "Exactly."

No... That can't be.

After Ella's downfall, there shouldn't be anyone left who would want Matilda dead...

Who else would go to such lengths to see Matilda dead?!

A whirlwind of thoughts raced through Yvan's mind. At this very moment, time had become incredibly precious; every second counted.

He immediately dialed Carl, "It's me, check Matilda's whereabouts now!"

It couldn't be, why would Matilda be kidnapped again? Was there something hidden about the truth from back then?

Suddenly, he remembered a call from Adrian, a sense of foreboding slowly rising within him...

What was it? Something crucial must have been overlooked...

"How dare you! Do you think you can take on the men of the Jungle Union?!" Esme charged at Matilda, only to be stopped in her tracks. With a strong push, Matilda said, "I'm not some soft touch you can mess with! Keep your husband and son away from me!"

"You wretch!"

Esme was fuming, "I'll teach you some manners today, you're quite the seducer for your age!"

"I have no interest in seducing anyone from your lot!" Matilda retorted sharply, "Clear up this mess and send me back, I have no interest in attending your so-called family gatherings!"

When Esme heard that Hadrian was planning to bring Matilda to a family dinner, her anger skyrocketed. She ordered her subordinates, "Tie her up! Make sure she doesn't escape!"

Matilda found herself surrounded. She was struck hard on her back, right where she had been wounded, causing her to shudder in pain. It felt as though her wound had split open, and she couldn't straighten up.
