A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 263

The reporter pressed on, "So, do you have any inside scoop?"

Matilda retorted sharply, "Inside scoop about what?"

Thwarted, the journalist shut up and someone else cautiously ventured, "Some say... you... you and Mr. Boyd were once married, and that Mia... Mia got in the middle, leading to your divorce five years ago..."

At this, both Matilda and Yvan's faces turned ashen.

Yvan immediately shot a look filled with daggers at Carl and said in a low voice, "Shut down that tabloid."

Carl nodded, swiftly taking action, "Understood."

Unexpectedly, Matilda faced the question head-on without dodging.

"Yes."

She said simply.

"I was indeed married to Mr. Boyd, and the Matilda from five years ago, that's me."

There was a collective gasp.

She took a deep breath and when she opened her eyes again, the corners were tinged with red.

She was strong, heartbreakingly so.

The media fell silent until Matilda softly asked, "Any more questions? If not, I'll take my leave."

This was live on the internet, and the reporters suddenly remembered that they had been so caught up in Matilda's story that they too had been drawn into the sadness, some even sniffling, as one asked in a nasally voice, "Ms. Thompson, will you be looking for love again in the future?"

Yvan's pupils contracted violently.

The woman on stage smiled gently, her voice soft as a breeze, "In this journey of life, I've known pain, struggle, and starting over. Life is long, and the proudest moments shouldn't be confined to just love."
