No More Layovers for a Love That Won't Land novel Chapter 96

After a while, Harry returned and placed a plate of food in front of Daisy, then handed her a knife and fork. Daisy quietly began to eat in small bites.

Harry asked, “Is it good?”

Daisy nodded.

Harry glanced at Freya, then turned to Daisy, saying “This auntie is the one who saved you. You should thank her.”

Daisy licked the cake off the fork and looked up at Freya. In a soft voice, she said, “Thank you, Auntie.”

Treya realized that Harry had asked the child to thank her. She smiled gently and replied, “You’re welcome.”

Daisy looked back at Harry, who said, “It’s fine, go ahead and eat.”

Daisy buried her head back into her food.

Harry, now focusing on his meal, took a bite of his own food before turning back to Freya, asking. “Did you come

alone?”

Freya replied, “It’s a company team–building event. I came with my colleagues.”

Harry didn’t know that Freya had already resigned from Wilson Corporation. So, when he heard this, he assumed that Wilson Corporation was also holding their team–building event here.

He paused before replying, “I see.”

At that moment, Johnny noticed Freya and waved at her.

Since Freya didn’t want to have too much interaction with people around Matteo, and she had nothing more to say to Harry, she saw this as an opportunity to leave.

She quickly waved back at Johnny and said to Harry, “Thank you for everything earlier. I’ve got to go now. Enjoy your meal.”

Harry could sense that Freya felt uneasy around him, but he didn’t comment on it.

Harry could sense that Freya seemed less warm towards him than before. He assumed it was because of the unpleasant conversation that had happened last time at the racetrack, but he didn’t think too much about it.

When he saw Freya preparing to leave, he simply nodded and didn’t try to stop her.

As Freya walked away, Johnny looked at Harry and asked, “Who’s that?”
