Chapter 7
Chapter 7
“No way, Mia gets to the hospital first. Nothing happens to her–nothing else matters compared to her safety!”
Jasper’s frantic, panicked shout was the last thing Freya heard before everything went black…
Treya felt like she’d been trapped in an endless nightmare.
When she finally came to, Elena Whitemore was sitting beside her, eyes puffy and red.
“Freya! I just landed and heard about the crash. Doctors said you nearly bled out–they almost lost you. I was freaking out!”
Seeing her best friend, all the pain Freya had bottled up came flooding out.
Her eyes filled as she finally broke down, reaching for Elena.
“I’m okay, really…”
The two friends clung to each other before Elena helped Freya sip some water. Remembering the doctor’s advice to keep things light, Elena changed gears.
“So how’s life been treating you? Has my jackass brother been behaving himself? And what about that guy you mentioned? When do I get to meet him? I need to vet him–if he’s not treating you like a queen, he’s history.”
Freya’s expression went flat.
“Your brother keeps things professional. He’s fine. As for the guy… that’s over.”
Elena hadn’t expected such a quick dismissal and jumped to damage control.
“His loss! As Ariana says, “Thank u, next!‘ I know tons of single guys I could hook you up with!”
Before she could finish, the door swung open as Jasper strode in, scowling.
“Hook her up with what? Absolutely not. Those players you hang with aren’t good enough to tie her shoes.”
