Chapter 266
A while later, Matteo answered the phone: “School’s over?”
“Mm.” Isabella replied with a hint of anticipation.
Matteo smiled lightly and asked, “Do you miss Mommy?”
“Mm.” Isabella’s voice became sweeter and softer.
“Did you not call Mommy?” he continued, his tone still gentle.
“Mm.” Isabella responded quietly, sounding a bit embarrassed.
Matteo chuckled softly, “Call her. Mommy should have time to answer today.”
Isabella’s eyes lit up upon hearing this: “Really?”
“Really. Call Mommy now,” he said warmly.
“Okay!” Isabella quickly hung up and dialed Freya’s number.
Freya hesitated when she saw the call coming in.
Although Isabella had visited her in the hospital after she fell down the stairs and again when she went to the Yves family, those two encounters didn’t count toward their planned one–month meetings.
Setting aside those, it had actually been more than a month since she last saw Isabella.
With this in mind, Freya answered the call: “Isabella, is school over?”
Before Freya could finish, Isabella, upon hearing her answer the phone, happily exclaimed, “Mommy!”
Her tone was filled with surprise.
Freya paused, her hand resting on the mouse, and stopped moving for a moment. After a brief two seconds, she came back to her senses and responded lightly, “Mm, Mommy’s here. Did you finish school?”
“Mm!” Isabella happily said, “Mommy, where are you? I wanted to call you earlier, but I was worried you wouldn’t have time to pick up, so I didn’t.
But just now, I called Daddy, and he said you’d definitely have time today. So, Mommy, are you coming home?”
Freya paused for a moment before answering: “Not yet-”
She paused again and then added, “Mommy’s still at the company. Later, I’ll go back to your great–grandmother’s house. Do you want to go to great–grandmother’s house first, or—”
Isabella immediately replied: “Wherever you go, I’ll go!”
Freya was silent for a moment. “Alright.” She added, “Then you go to great–grandmother’s house first. Mommy will come back after I finish work.”
“Mm!” Isabella responded, her voice full of reliance and expectation.
After hanging up, Freya finished the work at hand and then left the office.
When she returned to the Miller family home, before she even entered the door, Isabella had already run out to her, jumping into her arms: “Mommy!”
“Mm.” Freya gently picked her up, and Isabella’s smile was as bright as sunshine.

Before Isabella could say anything, Freya came out of the bathroom. Isabella saw her and said, “Mom, it’s a call from He Undle.”
“Okay,” Freya replied as she took the phone. Before she could speak, Harry spoke first. “I hope I’m not disturbing you
Freya replied, “No.”
Harry continued, “I’m currently out of town. As for our dinner plans, we’ll have to find another time.”
Freya said, “That’s fine.”
After hanging up, Freya was about to blow dry her hair when Isabella suddenly looked at her curiously.
Noticing her gaze, Freya asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Mom, you know Uncle Harry?” Isabella asked, a little confused.
