Never Again Yours (Isadora and Magnus) novel Chapter 506

After Eleanor returned from abroad, Isadora and Victor went to pick her up at the airport.

When Eleanor emerged from the arrivals gate, suitcase in hand, her eyes brightened at the sight of Victor waiting for her. Still, her expression gave nothing away—she maintained the dignified reserve and pride of a proper mother-in-law.

Victor stepped forward, gentlemanly as ever, taking the suitcase from her. He glanced at Isadora, then turned to Eleanor and spoke. “Mom, Isadora and I are here to bring you home.”

The word “Mom” took Eleanor by surprise; for a moment, her composure slipped and a faint smile tugged at her lips. She handed the suitcase over without a word.

Back at the Vaughan family estate, the house staff bustled about, preparing a lavish dinner spread across the dining table.

During the meal, Eleanor occasionally asked a few questions. Victor answered each one with calm precision—his manner aristocratic yet always respectful.

Throughout dinner, Victor’s attention rarely left Isadora. First, he peeled shrimp and placed it neatly on her plate, then picked out the finest pieces of fish and set them before her. His gestures were practiced, almost instinctive—clearly, this wasn’t the first time he’d done so.

Eleanor noticed everything.

When Isadora looked up, she caught Eleanor’s approving gaze. Isadora cleared her throat. “Mom, we’re already married. We registered a while ago.”

Eleanor didn’t look surprised. After all, their marriage documents had been mailed home months ago—it was only a matter of time.

She turned to Victor. “So, when are you two planning the wedding?”

Isadora pressed her lips together for a moment. “I’m nearly seven months pregnant now. We’re thinking it’s best to wait until after the baby is born and then see how things go.”

Eleanor’s face darkened just a touch, but she said nothing.
