My Mommy Became A Billionaire After the Breakup novel Chapter 909

Chapter 909 To Fulfill the Promise

"He makes money by himself," Evie replied flatly.

"It's just for a while. The house and the car are yours, right? I know at a glance that the man must harbor evil thoughts and that he is still violent. Both your brothers were beaten by him, and I went to jail..."

Jane's voice stopped abruptly.

She remembered that she had said on the phone that she was in prison because of Brian.

"What happened to your imprisonment?" Evie looked at her.

Jane shook her head. "Forget it. I don't want to recall the unfortunate matter anymore."

"Well."

Evie responded.

This meal was eaten in silence.

The mother and daughter spoke very little.

Jane was a little restless.

Naturally, she didn't enjoy the meal.

"Evie, those people are still waiting..." In the end, Jane couldn't remain silent and reminded her indirectly.

Evie put down her fork.

She looked at Jane. "Mom, have you listened to what I said on the phone?"

Jane nodded repeatedly. "Of course, I have listened to it."

"What will happen if you lie to me?" Evie asked.

Jane was taken aback for a moment and then said, "The relationship between mother and daughter will be completely severed. I am aware of it."

"Well, it's good that you are aware of it." Evie opened her wallet and said while looking for something, "I've moved out of my father's grave. I'll take you to see him tomorrow."

"Okay!"

Jane's eyes were fixed on Evie's wallet.

After a while, Evie took out the check.

Jane snatched it away as if she was afraid that Evie would go back on her word.

Evie did hope that there was a camera in the restaurant to record Jane's posture and face.

Brian's car was parked in a corner.

After she got in the car, she happily handed the check to Brian. "Evie doesn't have the money, either. She borrowed it from her friend. She just has a sharp tongue, and she still cares about me,"

Brian glanced at the check.

"If you don't mention divorce, will she give it to you?" Brian started the car after speaking.

Jane was startled. "Wait. I have to go back!"

"Go back?" Brian frowned at her. "Why are you going back?"

"I promised her that I would go back to have lunch with her after delivering the check," Jane replied.

Brian was a little impatient, but he still coaxed Jane. "Honey, we have to hurry up and cash the check to avoid other troubles."

Brian didn't care whether Jane was willing or not.

He started the car directly and drove away.

Jane sat there, looked back, and finally chose to remain silent. In the end, she didn't get out of the car to fulfill the promise she made to her daughter.
