Freya appeared calm and fearless, as if she hadn't done anything wrong. She carried the urn to the living room and placed it directly on the coffee table, which was so close to Athena.
She straightened her back. "Ms. Stella, I really want to know what I did to offend you. You have made such a big fuss and even embarrassed Byron in front of so many people."
She paused for a moment as if she had thought of something and then continued, "If it's because of the last plan, I admit that I was wrong. I won't make excuses. I'm willing to apologize and accept punishment. Please don't involve other people.'"
Freya glanced at Byron with concern. "Byron almost lost his life for you. You shouldn't have treated him so harshly."
"Freya..." Byron growled with narrowed eyes.
"She's right. You almost died trying to save me," Athena said, staring at Freya. "Freya, since you care so much about Byron, do you think the person who hired the assassin deserves to die?"
"Of course!" Freya answered, averting her gaze.
"Good," Athena sneered and nodded.
Actually, Freya had realized why Athena had sought her out.
Maybe Athena had traced it back to her.
"Jaxson, go find it," Athena ordered coldly.
Jaxson and his men promptly scattered in different directions.
"Babe..." Byron whispered.
"Don't ask, and don't say anything," Athena interrupted, not looking at Byron.
George said he thought Byron would defend Freya.
If so...
"Is this the phone that was used to contact Blind Snake?" Byron asked.
Freya was confused. "What is Blind Snake? And what does this phone have to do with me?"
"Blind Snake is an assassin organization, the one behind my assassination. The person who hired the assassin used this phone to contact Blind Snake. The signal of this phone appeared in Lauries Mansion shortly after the assassination, and it disappeared after about ten hours," Athena explained, looking at Freya.
"The phone used to hire the assassin was in Lauries Mansion? Mrs... Mrs. Lola Crawford hired the assassin again?" Freya immediately covered her mouth, pretending she had said something wrong. She looked at Byron with fear in her eyes.
Byron furrowed his brows and stared at the phone without looking at Freya.
Seeing this, Freya lowered her eyes and mumbled, "No wonder Mrs. Lola Crawford behaved so strangely those days and hurriedly went abroad..."
Then, as if she had thought of something, she looked at Athena in shock and said, "I heard from the police that someone was chasing Mrs. Lola Crawford's car that day, which caused the accident. Ms. Stella... was it you? Lola is Byron's mother! Even if you're angry, you shouldn't have taken her life!"
