After all the shares, movable and real estate, and wealth management products were dealt with, they moved to the jewelry.
Apparently, everyone wanted to get their share.
Brennen's voice was indifferent. "All the antique jewelry under Madam Crawford's name should be handed over to Athena Newton."
"What?" Lola couldn't take it anymore.
When did her life become this miserable?
It was all because of Athena!
If Athena hadn't tried to meddle in Byron and Heather's relationship, she wouldn't have offended Athena and been locked up by Byron in the asylum for half a year!
Although Byron didn't torture her and treated her nicely.
But she couldn't bear looking at the patients in the asylum every day.
She lived in infinite fear all the time.
"This doesn't count! Athena is dead!" Lola shouted loudly.
"According to the law, if Miss Newton is dead, the estate will be inherited by her children or other family members."
"Everyone in her family died! There is no one left. She doesn't have anyone to inherit her property anymore. Besides, these are passed down from generation to generation in the Crawford family. Why should they be given to an outsider? We should split it, to be fair," Lola retorted.
"I'll take care of Thea's share for her. You don't have to worry about that," Byron, who had not spoken much, tapped his slender fingertips gently on the armrest of the sofa and said.
"Are you trying to take everything for yourself, Byron?" Lola squealed.
The look in her eyes became timid.
"So you've found another woman who looks like her?" Lola sneered, "You are not planning for that woman to pretend to be Athena and inherit the jewelry and antiques, do you?"
"I don't care what you think." Byron got up and continued, "Since you're all here, I can't let you leave empty-handed. I've asked the finance department to prepare some money. Remember to get the checks before you leave."
After finishing speaking, Byron left the room.
The rest of the Crawford family members looked at each other.
"Lola, you asked us to come here to get a share of the old woman's money. But we didn't get anything but an empty check!" A tough-looking woman asked Lola with her hands on her hips.
"How can you just stand there and do nothing if you want something?" Lola was extremely impatient. "If you want money, then pester Byron and make him spit out those jewelry and antiques. Let me tell you, even if you only get one of them; it'll be enough to make you rich for a while!"
