Chapter 93 The Dean's Accusation
Edmond remained at the entryway and slowly complained about Eli after sending him away.
"He is so stubborn." Edmond ranted.
Alicia found it funny and asked, "Aren't you the same too?"
"Well, I'm not like him. At least I don't come up with the nonsense of liking guys." Edmond denied.
"The pot calling the kettle black, so stop complaining about him." Alicia reprimanded.
Actually, what Edmond said was right.
Eli was very stubborn, and he did not even dare to answer the question she asked earlier.
Alicia finally understood that Eli and Grace were just like she and Edmond, who were hardheaded and stubborn.
It was just that Alicia could not contact Grace and tell her about Eli's current situation.
Alicia felt uneasy whenever she thought of Grace being alone in a foreign country and not keeping in touch with anyone.
On the way to the hospital, Edmond glanced at her sideways and realized she had been trying to contact Grace several times.
"Are you still thinking about their matters?" Edmond asked curiously.
"I'm worried about Grace's safety oversea. I want to go and look for her once my mom's situation improves." Alicia explained.
"Do you know which country she is in?" Edmond questioned.
"Zach said that her plane flight was going to the Thafield Country. Apparently, she switched to another mode of transportation and disappeared without leaving any trace." Alicia recounted what she knew.
"How are you going to find her when you don't even have any clue?" Edmond asked puzzledly.
"Based on my understanding of her, she won't be running too far away. Plus, Grace likes to visit art exhibitions, so we can try investigating from that perspective when we get there." Alicia explained further about her plan.
Edmond nodded but poured a bucket of cold water over Alicia's plan, "Your plans... I bet the Florrick family have thought of the same things too."
Alicia could not refute Edmond since the Florrick family could not locate Grace even now.
Thus, she had no choice but to put aside Grace's matter for now.
Melissa looked much better and could utter a few more words as they visited her in the hospital.
Seeing Alicia and Edmond visiting her, Melissa could not help but smile happily.
Edmond went away to find the attending doctor to understand more about Melissa's situation, while Alicia followed the caregiver's example and massaged Melissa's muscles.
"Mom, you look much better today," Alicia stated.
"Licia..." Melissa called out to her gently.
"Yes?" Alicia replied.
As he stood up and turned around to return to the ward, he bumped into Alicia in the end.
The gloomy expression was swept away instantly and replaced with a doting look and voice as he asked her, "Why did you come out? Why aren't you staying with your mom?"
If it were not for the fact that Alicia had seen how Edmond had spoken on the phone just now, it would be hard to tell and even detect his emotions.
Edmond was really very good at hiding his emotions.
Otherwise, his faking of being a scum would not go unnoticed by Alicia for so many years.
"The call you had just now was from your hospital?" Alicia asked cautiously.
Edmond's tone was calm as he replied, "Yes."
"So what was it about?" Alicia probed carefully.
"They told me not to return to work anymore," Edmond answered.
"What?" Alicia exclaimed in shock.
"Diane is dead, and Lori becomes a vegetable. Even if she managed to wake up, she would probably be half-paralyzed for life." After explaining, a mocking smile appeared on Edmond's face.
"Now the Dean had blamed me for all these." Edmond scorned.
