Chapter 51 Does Alicia like me?
Alicia didn't know what Edmond was going to do.
After starting the car, he behaved like a rascal, looking here and there, playing around, and even trying to hold Alicia's hand.
She slapped it away.
"We're driving. Stop messing around."
"Don't you like holding hands? Or is it that you don't like me?"
Alicia was somewhat startled by Edmond.
At a red light, she reached over to feel his forehead.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm just acting as a cute boy, and you have to play along."
Alicia was rendered speechless.
Wasn't that enough?
"So yesterday we were brothers, today brother and sister. What's tomorrow? Father and daughter?"
"Call me dad once. Let me hear it."
Alicia choked on her words.
She turned her head with a flirtatious smile and lifted his chin with her fingertips. "Sweet little brother, speak nicely, and please me."
Edmond enjoyed watching her enchanting demeanor.
"There are many ways to please someone, not necessarily by saying nice words."
With that, he reached out to the back of Alicia's head, leaned down, and kissed her.
Beep-
The car behind honked its horn. Alicia quickly pushed Edmond away and drove off, blushing.
The man wiped the corner of his mouth, looking quite satisfied.
"Do you like the way I pleased you?"
He seemed to be addicted to acting.
"Just tell me what happened. Who bullied you?"
So, all that he had done was to relieve her.
Alicia pursed her lips and slowly replied.
"It's nothing. Just the last collaboration project failed, and they're trying to hold me responsible."
"Why don't you say that I messed it up?"
"That would only make me look like I'm shirking responsibility."
Edmond fell silent.
Alicia stared at him blankly.
"What have you heard?"
Edmond did not answer directly. Remembering how people were constantly talking about rumors about Alicia sleeping with Peter, his eyes darkened.
"Those secretaries around you are useless. Find an opportunity to fire them all and replace them."
"So, the reason you were flirting and dating them for the past few days was to get this information?"
He neither confirmed nor denied it.
Alicia was quite shocked and took a long time to calm down.
It turned out Edmond understood everything.
During these few days of being together, Edmond was slowly dismantling her previous perceptions and impressions of him.
This made Alicia feel an unprecedented fear.
"Edmond, don't be so good to me."
Edmond caught a glimpse of fear in Alicia's eyes. He once thought of her as a fearless woman, bold and indifferent, someone who would flirt with other men and then walk away.
But now he realized that what this woman feared most in life was to love someone.
"A man can only have one wife. If I'm not good to you, who should I be good to?"
