Love Beyond the Mask novel Chapter 1194

When did Shane and Sandy get so close? Sienna had absolutely no idea.

Envy burned hot in Sienna’s chest. “Sandy’s totally hitting on you behind my back, isn’t she? Shane, she just wants payback. She’s playing you!”

But Shane narrowed his eyes, his voice low and full of meaning. “If Sandy really wanted to play me, that’d be a dream come true. Sienna, I’m warning you—leave her out of your drama.

I’m just not into you. That’s got nothing to do with her.

And about this engagement? Not happening. Not now, not ever. You’d better talk some sense into your grandma.

Otherwise, it’s going to get ugly for both our families.”

The moment his tone turned icy, his whole face went cold. Sienna just stared as Shane turned on his heel and strode away.

He barely paused as he stepped out of the funeral home, scanning the crowd for any sign of Sandy’s voice.

But then he spotted Sandy standing with Whitney just outside. Sandy’s gaze flickered away from him, her eyebrows drawn together in faint annoyance, a touch of disdain glinting in her eyes.

Crap, Shane thought. Did Sandy see Sienna clinging to his arm just now? Did she get the wrong idea?

Sure enough, Sandy didn’t say a word. When he looked her way, she acted like he didn’t even exist.

She tugged on Whitney’s sleeve. “Sis, why’d you stop walking?”

Whitney’s eyes shifted to Shane—she’d heard Sienna’s little tantrum, too.

Honestly, she’d only slowed down to give Shane a chance to catch up to Sandy. It was obvious he wanted to talk to her, and Whitney was nothing if not an enabler.

But before Whitney could say anything, Sandy’s phone started ringing.

Sandy glanced at the screen, frowned, shot Whitney a quick look, and then stepped away to answer.
