"Here, put her in this bed." Dr Armand urged Damon, who was holding the unconscious girl.

Damon gingerly laid her down on the pristine white sheets covering the narrow hospital bed.

I looked down at her frail, battered body, she was barely out of her teens. She smelled off, similar to those rogues. My wolf Jake was on the edge.

Dr Armand took his stethoscope and listened to her heart and lungs.

"Where did you find her ?" I asked Damon.

Armand nodded briefly at the nurse who slid next to him to assist with the girl.

"We found her near the edge of the shipyard, we almost missed her. She was almost dead and, naked. She smelled odd. I thought she was also dead, like the other girl. But she was breathing and there was a weak pulse. I thought it was best to bring her here to get medical attention." Damon explained.

Armand motioned for the nurse to take the girl's blood pressure while he inspected the bruises, cuts, and contusions covering her body. "She was badly beaten. I am surprised how she survived the ordeal."

Nodding my head, I kept my gaze on the girl on the bed. She looked starved. Gashes and bruises covered her from head to toe. I would not be surprised if we were to later find out that she was also sexually violated. Only the most vicious of creatures could do something like this. True monsters who didn't have any conscience or shred of humanity.

"I assumed so. She also smells off..."

Sniffing delicately, Armand could detect a tang of something unidentifiable in the girl's system.

"I know what you mean. She has been changed, just like those rogues. We'll clean her up and treat her injuries. When she regains consciousness, I'll let you know."

I nodded again and left the room along with my betas.

"Alpha, do you think she might be the clue we have been looking for? She could shed light on the mystery of this rogue gang." Damon asked.

"That's a possibility, What do we know of this girl?"

"Nothing. She was naked and covered in bruises. No identification or possessions were found near her. I've already asked to have her prints run in the police database, and also check her likeness in any missing person cases."

"Good. Let me know when she wakes up. She might be crucial in finding those rogues, so keep her protected. Deploy a few guards around her room."

"Sure, Alpha," Damon responded.

I left the hospital, I had so many excitements in a single day. I badly needed my mate.
