His Reluctant Luna novel Chapter 64

 Six months later --

Alice -

Sunlight was streaming through the picture window on the east wall, warming the bed. I walked out of the shower and saw Lucian stirring in the bed.

"Sorry," I said softly. "I didn't mean to wake you."

The bedsheet fell away from his body as he leaned to kiss me.

"What time is it?" He asked.

"A little past six," I replied, and got out of the bed. I walked towards the window and glanced out in the morning.

"Why don't you come back to bed?" He asked.

"No, I was just going to take a shower and head into work," I responded.

"It's so early," he said through a yawn.

"I know, but I've got an important meeting today. I'm going to take a shower. Go back to sleep." I said.

"You sure you can't come back to bed?" He asked again as I applied lipstick and flashed him a quick smile in the mirror.

"I'm all ready to go now," I said.

"I am too," he said while nodding towards the bulge in the covers.

 I giggled.

"You know that isn't what I mean. Can you come here, and zip me up?"

He slowly got out of bed and walked over slowly and put his arms around my waist. He rested his chin on my shoulder and kissed my cheek. The sight of the two of us in the mirror made me smile. It had been 6 months since that event. Things had been settling down slowly. The pack was living in peace. When the new members from the black stone pack had arrived. Meg found her mate among them. The once abused and submissive girl had bloomed into a happy and confident woman because her mate supported her. Being a Luna of such a big pack was challenging. I was still learning the ropes of managing the pack, Katherine, and Rain were a big help. I was also required to accompany Lucian to all pack meetings, and business meetings to understand how it was run.

I had joined his architecture firm as well, it was part-time, so I didn't have to visit the office every day, but I loved doing what I have always enjoyed, designing buildings. It gave me creative satisfaction and Lucian was happy with my work. As we stood in front of the mirror, he rubbed his lips on my neck.

"Please come back to bed, honey," he said.

 I smiled wickedly.

"Mmm, you know I'd like to. But I need to win those contracts. I have a very feisty boss. Come on, be a good boy and zip my dress."

He leaned forward to kiss me.

"No," I said with a giggle. "You'll mess my makeup. And I have to leave, so just zip me up."

"Well, if you are worried, we can stop," he joked.
