Goodbye, Mr. Regret novel Chapter 155

Timothy had tried every gentle trick in the book to coax Jessica into going to the amusement park with him, but she refused every time.

Sometimes, she even had the nerve to humiliate him outright.

But now, for the sake of some guy named Herbert, she'd run off to the amusement park to find him.

At the time, Timothy was too angry to care whether Jessica was actually sick or just pretending.

It wasn't until Sheila pointed it out that he realized Jessica probably was genuinely ill.

She must have been in real pain—otherwise, she wouldn't have broken out in a sweat across her forehead.

Plus, she was on her period. She'd been feeling off since last night.

"Timothy?"

Sheila's voice pulled him out of his thoughts.

After their argument, there was no way he was going to look for Jessica. Period cramps weren't life-threatening, after all.

"She's not a child. If she's uncomfortable, she can get herself to the hospital."

Sheila's tone sharpened. "Timothy, you're being absolutely ridiculous!"

Throwing off the covers, Sheila swung her legs off the hospital bed. "I'll go find her myself. If Jessica really is sick and you don't even bother to check on her, she's going to be devastated. Is that how you want things between you two?"

Timothy gently pushed Sheila back onto the bed. "You just woke up. Stay here and rest—I'll go find her."

"That's more like it. Go. Now."

Timothy gave himself a reason—if Jessica dared to tease him later for coming back so quickly, he'd just tell her that he wouldn't have bothered if Sheila hadn't insisted.
