The TechNet forums were absolutely on fire.
“He took the challenge! Dad’s accepted the challenge!”
“Oh my god, I’m so hyped!”
“Legend! Absolute legend!”
“He’s the coolest!”
“Love him forever!”
“Damn, this YC is bold! Doesn’t seem like one of those teams hiding in the shadows.”
“Everyone can put on a show. Just wait—if he loses, he’ll probably just whine about it.”
“Haha, are you one of those whiners yourself?”
A poll popped up almost instantly: Would Anthea place in the top three?
Right now, over 2,000 people were rooting for Anthea.
Meanwhile, the three so-called giants from Pellonia had a little over 500 supporters combined.
At the Tech Summit Global, the organizer handed out numbered badges to every contestant.
Rebecca had signed up too. Since she was here, there was no way she’d leave empty-handed.
She was determined to beat Anthea and reclaim every ounce of dignity she’d lost earlier. She was going to grind Anthea’s face into the floor.
“System, is there any way I can beat Anthea?” she asked quietly.
But unlike usual, the system didn’t reply immediately.
Rebecca frowned. “System, are you there?”
Still nothing.
What the hell was going on?
Right then, the organizer reached her, handing her a badge. Rebecca took it with a calm face, but inside, her mind was in complete chaos.
Why now, of all times, did the system decide to go silent?
“System!” she called out in her head, again and again.
No answer.
The contest had already started.
Contestants from all over the world took their places on stage.
Rebecca walked up, nerves jangling, silently praying for the system to come back.
“System!”
But there was only silence. Even as she walked to her workstation, nothing changed.
What was happening? Where had the system gone?
Without it, she was utterly clueless about anything tech-related. How was she supposed to crush Anthea now?
