Then, Arianne realized that her handbag was nowhere to be seen. ‘My phone’s in there, so it seems that I won’t even be able to call for help. Also, the acoustics in this basement must be very good based on its structure, so nobody will probably be able to hear me even if I shout as loud as I can. Furthermore, even if the Rodriguezes do hear me, I doubt anyone’s going to save me. They’re probably only going to torture me even more.’

You’ve always been on very good terms with Teo, so you won’t stop me, will you? I’m sure you would want me to seek revenge for Teo as well, wouldn’t you?”

Geralt glanced at Arianne and had an expression of mixed feelings on his face. “Mrs. Rodriguez… The situation isn’t as you think it is. We’ve got to wait for the kidnappers to be caught and Teo’s body’s to be found before we come to a conclusion. Don’t you know this is illegal? Teo’s already gone, so are you still going to involve yourself any deeper than you already are?”
