"Colt, please."
Rick was practically pushing Colt out the door, leaving him no choice but to give in. "Alright, I'll talk to Bea. Ms. Sophie, Mr. Colby, could you please come with me?"
Meanwhile, at the Burke family estate—
"What? Colby is coming too?"
Bea’s face turned dark as soon as she got the call.
Colby had always been a thorn in the side of the Burke family, even marrying Sophie, whom they considered damaged goods, making them the butt of jokes!
Now, she was dead set against letting Colby step foot in their home.
"Bea, please, let's keep our cool."
If Colby couldn’t come in, they wouldn’t get anywhere with Sophie.
Hearing this, Bea took a deep breath. "Fine, Sophie is ruthless! I'll let him in!"
After hanging up, Bea swallowed her pride. If it meant getting Burke International back under family control, what was a little humiliation?
"Bea..."
Marian stepped forward with a cup of tea, trying to calm her. "Please, relax, ma'am... It's good that Ms. Sophie is willing to come back. We can't let the company slip into outsiders' hands."
"One Elodie took off with ten percent of Burke International’s shares. Her disobedience is the least of our worries—I should've demanded another grandson back then! It would've been better than this mess!"
The more Bea thought about it, the angrier she got. Not only did Sophie oust Elodie today, but Bea also lost shares in Burke International. It felt like losing both a battle and a war.
Marian suggested, "Bea, if Ms. Sophie hadn't divorced Mr. Burke back then..."
