Nathan was rendered speechless.
Jake glanced between the two men, their animosity a palpable force in the room. Then his eyes fell on Raffy, who was trembling in the corner, and a wave of anger and helplessness washed over him. He had no idea how to salvage the situation.
If Alexander really walked away, could Nathan truly support the Davidson family?
Had he made the right decision?
Just then, the butler entered, holding the stock transfer agreement. He cautiously presented it to Alexander.
Bianca opened her mouth to protest again, but a single look from Alexander silenced her.
He picked up the pen and, without a shred of hesitation, signed his name on the dotted line.
“It’s signed,” Alexander said, his voice devoid of emotion. He pushed the agreement across the table toward Nathan. “From this day forward, I have nothing more to do with the Davidson family. Nash Langley will coordinate with you on the company handover.”
He paused, his gaze softening slightly as he turned to Bianca. “Mom, I’ll come visit you often. Don’t worry too much about the family’s affairs. Just take care of yourself.”
Then, his eyes hardened as they fell on Nathan one last time. “And since you were the one who brought Raffy back, take proper care of him. Stop using him as a pawn.”
With that, he turned his back on them. Bianca watched her son’s resolute figure walk away, tears finally streaming down her face, a silent scream trapped in her throat.
Jake stared at the agreement on the table, a bitter cocktail of emotions churning in his gut. He wanted to say something, but all that came out was a heavy sigh.
