When An Ran finished setting the tea and snacks, Zhang Huahan couldn’t eat alone, so she invited the two to join her.
Just then, a group of servants came to the opposite side, making even more noise than An Ran and the others earlier, directly using screens to partition the area around them.
A bamboo curtain only needs to be hung high up, not taking much space, and An Ran only enclosed one table, not disturbing others.
But the screens occupied a large area and were precious items. Seeing this, the people around naturally stepped aside, afraid of accidentally touching them and unable to compensate even if they sold themselves.
For a moment, the sound of chairs being dragged echoed through the tea house, and soon, a vacuum zone formed around the neighboring three tables.
Soon after, several women in veils and silk attire entered the teahouse.
Miss Zhang saw them and muttered under her breath, "What a grand display! With their arrival, half the teahouse can’t be seated."
An Ran glanced slightly, "They should be from an official family." She then looked at Zhang Huahan, "Conducting affairs outside should never be ostentatious, as it’s said, there’s always someone better. A single mistake can bring misfortune to your family. Miss, don’t learn from their ways."
Zhang Huahan nodded, and both Mr. Zhang and Miss Zhang took it to heart.
After the three siblings finished a cup of tea, Mr. Zhang Sr.’s expression turned grim as he entered the teahouse.
Mr. Zhang quickly lifted the bamboo curtain and rose to greet him, "Father, is it the ship negotiation?"
Mr. Zhang Sr. coldly replied, "The ship I chartered was directly transferred by Boss Lu to the Xuzhou Prefectural Governor Dong’s family."
Mr. Zhang frowned, was silent for a moment, and then said, "Boss Lu has many ships. He diverted the one we booked, so he should arrange another one for us. Surely, there can’t be none left?"
Mr. Zhang Sr. was about to say something when he saw a few people approaching outside the tea house.
Among them was Boss Lu.
The apologetic expression on Boss Lu’s face was noticeable as he looked up, realizing it was the Zhang father and son pair, feeling slightly awkward.
The Zhang Family also had a shop in the provincial city, frequently traveling there, inevitably needing to rent Boss Lu’s ships, thus having many dealings with him.
