Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle' novel Chapter 209

Chapter 209: The Ambiguous Couple’s Suite

Selina could hardly imagine what kind of impression she left on Logan.

Was she vain and over-the-top in his eyes?

The man raised a brow slightly. "Not going to finish listening? You’ve liked two hundred and fifteen tweets, and posted sixteen of your own. If Mrs. Reid wants, I can read them all out loud."

Selina wanted to explode.

...She hadn’t even realized she’d liked that many tweets. And every single one was mocking Angelica.

No wonder Angelica’s fans were foaming at the mouth to come for her.

But still...

Selina straightened her back, suddenly feeling justified.

"What’s wrong with me liking those posts? Am I not prettier than Angelica? Don’t I have a better academic background? Isn’t my design work leagues above hers?"

Logan chuckled. "No problem at all. Mrs. Reid is very confident."

Selina hesitated. That "very confident" wasn’t sarcasm... right?

Seeing that she had fallen quiet, Logan smoothly changed the subject. "Luke just invested in a ski resort. Want to go?"

Selina’s eyes lit up.

She had always wanted to learn how to ski, but something always got in the way.

"The resort hasn’t officially opened yet," Logan said. "Luke only invited a few close friends to try it out early. You’ll have plenty of time to learn."

If it wasn’t open to the public yet, that meant the place would be empty. Perfect for practice.

Selina swallowed. "You’re going to teach me?"

Logan paused, then let out a low laugh. "Who else would Mrs. Reid want to teach her?"

Selina was mortified to realize her heart skipped a beat.

...

After agreeing on a date to go skiing, Selina headed upstairs to rest.

The next morning, when she woke up, Angelica’s redemption video had taken over the headlines. Once again, she had cast herself as the pitiful, innocent victim.

Selina clicked into Twitter.

Angelica, wearing light makeup for a "bare-faced" look, stood in front of the camera looking haggard and remorseful. "I want to apologize on behalf of my mother. What she did is unforgivable, and she’s already facing consequences for her actions. I just hope everyone can stay rational..."

Of course. Angelica had been ruthless enough to push all the blame onto Katie.

After days of public backlash, her fans finally felt vindicated.

[We knew our Angelica would never do such a thing. It’s all that mother of hers dragging her down again!]

[Exactly! Katie’s her real mom. Of course Angelica trusted her! How was she supposed to know the design inspiration she gave her was stolen from Selina? Poor Angelica, getting blamed for nothing.]

There were a few differing opinions:

[But Katie gave Angelica the design, and Angelica claimed it as her own. Isn’t that wrong no matter how you spin it? How can you call yourself a "genius designer" when you’re using someone else’s ideas?]

That comment quickly got drowned out by angry fans:

[Shut up! Are you Selina’s paid troll? Angelica didn’t plagiarize!]

[So what if she used someone else’s inspiration? Selina should be honored Angelica even used her ideas!]

[Whether Angelica’s a genius designer or not—just wait for the competition. She’ll prove it.]

[Exactly. The design competition is coming up. Let’s see who wins!]

...

Selina closed the app, thoroughly bored.

Those rabid fans were all copy-pasting the same nonsense. Nothing new.

Just then, her phone rang.

Luke’s arrogant voice came through loud and clear. "Heard you’re going to the ski resort too? Fine, out of the kindness of my heart, I’ll come personally to pick you up tomorrow. Touched?"

Selina: "..."

She glanced at the caller ID. "You’re picking me up? No need. Logan’s coming with me."

"What, you mean you didn’t know?" Luke suddenly got excited, raising his voice dramatically.

"You’re supposed to be his foxy little wife, and you didn’t even know Logan has plans tomorrow? How sad—guess it’s up to me to come pick you up!"

Selina raised an eyebrow. Logan had plans tomorrow?

Just then, Miller Butler seemed to have overheard and stepped in with a warm smile.

"What’s your request?"

Angelica’s eyes glinted.

"Mr. Reid, I’d like..."

...

When it came time to leave, Selina glanced at the itinerary Jack had sent—sure enough, Logan’s day was packed from morning to night with meetings.

She boarded the private jet with Luke, and after a three-hour flight, their driver took them to a sprawling estate.

"There’s a hot spring resort and ski lodge inside," Luke explained cheerily. "We’ll stay in the resort tonight—soaking in the springs is perfect after traveling. Oh! And listen..."

Luke suddenly leaned in, looking sneaky and excited.

"Selina, I arranged a very special room for you. Reserved it myself—nobody else got this one!"

Selina: "...?"

Lowering his voice further, Luke’s eyes darted side to side.

"Not only does the room have a private hot spring... but let’s just say, I designed it for couples. You’ll love it."

Selina instantly had a bad feeling.

When she walked into the room, her fears were confirmed—

The bathroom was transparent! The shower was separated from the bedroom only by frosted glass, revealing blurry silhouettes of everything.

And outside, in the garden, there was a huge, secluded open-air hot spring.

Luke swallowed hard, eyes gleaming.

"Think about it, Selina. A private outdoor hot spring, no interruptions... just you and Logan, soaking under the stars, maybe even, you know... hehe..."

He bolted before she could reply.

Leaving Selina frozen in place, staring at the room.

An open-air hot spring. A shower barely separated by foggy glass. This place was clearly made for couples.

Did Logan... know what kind of room Luke arranged?

Her cheeks slowly flushed red.
